okay, one more thing

I applied a while back for a paying gig! To make QP's and such. I got picked! Not only did I get picked, but now I am going to be Team Leader for a wonderful designer. It has been in the works a bit and we are ironing things out. The biggest wrinkle being she is in Germany and I am in California, USA. The time zone, 9 hours difference. This is very hard, but we are getting there! I am very excited to announce that I have added yet one more responsibility to my load of insanity. This is a whole different avenue for me, and I am learning new things in the digi world. This makes life fun for me.
Let me introduce to you my new boss; Claudi of Claudi's Scrap and Design. She makes me laugh and loves life and the joy of scrapping. She has fun in what she does and I love that! I am looking forward to a fun partnership with her!
New things abound, my dear friend and fellow CT member Caryn of Color with Caryn is now a Fairy at Enchanted Studio Scraps, ESS. She is designing and selling her beautiful kits! My batteries are CHARGED and ready to go!!

I do not know where I am getting the energy, but so enjoying it! We had a huge Rap concert outreach with our church and a sister church from Redding this weekend, I mean, I was on my feet and talking to people all day about Jesus Christ! There was lots of visitors and the people in our church were excited and catching the vision of reaching the world for Jesus! I tell you, my legs were tired! But my brain is humming and just raring to go!
I have been busy venturing into some new areas in the scrap world, and it is keeping my creative juices moving! NO, I am not designing...still rearranging, but in different genre's...<--don't cha' just love that word?
Today is a big day, as Charlie has a new kit out and her newsletter hit the digi stands (emails...lol), but big savings and free things inside! (hint: I am the star of it...) you don't want to miss signing up for it! I had a picture of Eric, from 6 years ago, not scrapped yet, that so fit this kit! My boy is so grown now. I got GSO at DST,

I laugh as the world of scrapping like everything else gets reduced to acronyms. GSO is gallery stand out and DST is Digi Shop Talk, the biggie of the scrap world web site! I tell you there are some incredible talented folks uploading their layouts! I browse thru the Stand outs for inspiration and today, Kimberly Rae posted one of my layouts in the GSO! This is a big thing for this scrapper!
I tell you the whole world of scrapping is just being amped up in my life...new things happening and just enjoying the fun and newness of it! I have so much to share, but can't do right now...have to make sure everything is in place before I let you in on it! But it's exciting....and of course it is has to do with adding to my already full plate....yeah, I thrive in chaos!

little break for ladybugs!

Dear Jenny who is working overtime keeping her FULL to the BRIM store Sunflower Scrap running, somehow found time to do a bit of designing! I was so excited to see the email to put some layouts together for her! She is so sweet and a mom of twins, you know that is my weakness, and hers are boys and toddlers! So how she has time to do anything keeps me in amazement...oh I babble, here is the kit:

The kit is not available until this Friday, the 27 of March....but you will want to check in and see what is going on over there...cause oh my...I have a secret...I want so to show you it...no, no, no...come back Friday! it is just lovely!

Goodness the layouts from the kit, I almost forgot, the first is G-man, in his ever present hoodie! He is stepping out and following in style with his new shorts! a whole week without blogging?

Gosh, I just got busy making and doin' that this poor blog got neglected! Been handing out bragbooks for my taskmaster Charlie over at Enchanted Studios! This woman is unstoppable, now she has a CU (commercial use) grab bag!

I am totally clueless to designing, I look at CU stuff and my hands sweat and I can't do a thing with it...but I know there are folks out there who are wanting to design and being thrifty too....so here is a bargain and CU items too! Been Busy Creating!

In doing all the scans of pictures for my mom, I had a blast making layouts of my beautiful mom. She is the baby of the family, and has alot of pictures of her. My dad's pics are few and far between, but I do have one very special one: Doris Castle came out with a new kit: Spring View.

My favorite part of the kit is the beautiful long windows....but I can't figure out what kind of picture to put behind it...my brain has to toss it around a bit more.
The kit is available at Scrapbookgraphics, it is really soft and nice for heritage layouts. I would love to hear your ideas of what could go behind the window.

Yep, when mojo is out, all the designers I am honored to create for come out with kits!

Carolyn Kite, (whom I believe never ever sleeps, but just makes huge kits for scrapbooking non-stop) has the cleverest Easter/Spring kit. I love the brightness, it is a nice reminder, Spring is coming!

The Kit is called Sweetest Spring and is available at Scrap N Tag. I had this picture of my girls, from 2007, when we were still in New Mexico. They are on the trampoline and the static electricity from the air in NM combined with the trampoline had their hair standing straight up!

I am learning to use photo masks, and the one I used is from dear Netta at Creative Victorian. My goal is to have everything she has ever made...what a wonder she is...

So there is a bit of an update for what I am doing scrapwise!

I made this layout of my dear hubby, relaxing.

My husband, gets up at 3am~six days a week, works a hard job of unloading a truck and stocking at Target, then goes and prays and studies and does all the business for the church. This includes going to neighborhoods, parking lots and out anywhere to talk to people about Jesus Christ. He is a full time Pastor in a pioneer church....starting from the beginning!

He goes and goes and goes...catching him relaxing is a rare shot! Being married to your best friend is so wonderful.

LIfe is Busy, and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Just an all around great day! Sun shinning, bit of a spring breeze, expecting a wee bit of rain this evening and the flowers all over California are bursting into cheery explosions of color! I love this time of year, because it means HOT is coming soon, school will be out, and I will be lazing by a pool anywhere! I know some of you are in cold, cold, I mean bitter cold places right now...I am sending you spring breezes...lol

It is time for some of the revealing! some, but not too much! When Snap and Scrap announced it was closing, it was a real blow to me (scrapwise, I mean I will survive), because I had made some fun invisable friends...and well, they all laughed at my jokes...and those who know me, know I love it when people think I am funny....

I digress....

well, it closed and my dear friend over the pond and round the corner and down the block in Australia, Charlie made some decisions in her life at the same time (no, don't worry she isn't stopping designing), and one was to go exclusive with one shop, and pour her talent into that. I am on her CT, and the rest of the gang on the team, went in on a stealth manuevers, checking out the challenges, gallerys, and activity. We are a tough group...tight knit and we liked it...goodness, I got real comfy and have already done one challenge!

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....all you looking for an ACTIVE, it is like a little bee hive of activity, come over and see some familiar faces and meet new ones. Join me at Enchanted Studio Scraps!

why because I thrive in chaos!

I did NOT get a dog! I did have two dogs come and visit and play with my kids for an hour Monday! I found this swap shop on the radio...and put our freezer on it! Well it sold! A man in another town (an hour away) came and brought his wonderful dogs. The kids played and played...the poor old dogs were gonna sleep good all the way home....

but..................

my dear Jenny is doing so good with her new store Sunflower Scraps, that she doesn't have the time to design as much anymore, so she is focusing mainly on the store! It is a good thing for her, but left me out a designer. I like to keep myself at 5 designers. That way I am busy, but not overwhelmed.

So I headed over to DST (Digital Scrap Talk) forum to see who was needing people or what opportunities I could apply for...(I think for is a prepostion and I just kinda ended a sentence with it..) Sorry Mom! (who is on vacation/coast for 6 weeks I think the coast, we had a quick, my phone dieing conversaton this morning!)

I am babbling sorry, well I applied for two CT's. I got an almost immediate response for one, and it is so perfect for me.

I make clusters, (layers of different scrap elements), page clusters, stacked papers, brags and other premade items. I am so loving this...sometimes I just want to rearrange designs, not work with a picture...and this is just the best way to do it!

The designer is Netta from Creative Victorian, is she is just beyond patient and is teaching me great things. Shadows..oh my, I feel set free! I learned how to make a style button and a lovely shadow, she worked all out for me! And she made this lovely blinkie for me:

Isn't fantastic! I admit it, I am a blinkie fan...just tell me I am doing good, pat me on my head and give me a blinkie! woo hoo, see my name on it!?! That is so cool!

Store isn't closing, but Charlie is leaving...so SALE

The economy is beginning to cause alot of us to rethink our priorities and tighten out belts...well, I haven't worn a belt in years...lol...but you get what I am saying.
My boss (in the scrapping world) Charlie, after Snap and Scrap announced it's closing has decided well ,here is her words:

"It is with great sadness that I have to decided to close up shop at (SAS) Stone Accents Studio. I have spent many hours pondering this decision, especially after the announcement of the Snap site closing too!I feel the need to streamline my life and to start fresh, so this is the basis for this decision and the fact of wanting to spend more time hopefully with family and more time to work on my designs!"

So with her streamlining, that means she is going to be popping out new kits and I am gonna be doing some scrapping! So no despairing! But with her closing down over at SAS, she has a lovely sale for those who want to stock up on her designs! Image is linked to take you right to her store!

sunshine and basketball 7 march 09

Gman, my honey and Mr. E playin' some hoops (horse) at one of the local parks. We have been going 100mph with getting the church building up and functioning, outreaching all the time, Tony getting teams together to come and just everything. So this morning after Tony got off work(working 6 days a week), we ate, he went back to church to finish his sermon. He came home and we had chip buddies..fried potato sands with malt vinegar...starch/carb sandwich! Then the boys mowed and edged the back yard with the adults supervising and girls trimming the tree sucker limbs. A quick clean up and off to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather...crisp and sunny!

because life happened and no pics for a bit

It rained for a long time, and was cold and icky and I didn't want to take another wet picture, or anything in my house, because it all needs to be aired out and cleaned. ha ha, so I was going to pick the kidlets from school, and didn't want to listen to Michael Savage or music, so scanned am and found a local swap shop call in show! I got on, and listed our deep freezer! I got two calls, but they wanted it more the size to put a body in...that grossed me out, I told them only midgets could be frozen in this one. One man asked for a picture...so you get to see it too...
Please note, that we are in Northern California and hunting is a BIG thing here...so that is probably (hopefully) the reason for wanting a (as one caller said) "freezer the size of a coffin"

We went to Marysville for the Chinese Celebration...bong hey fat choy...of their new years. If you know anything of California history, 1840's you remember that the Chinese had a HUGE presence here during the gold rush. This presence remains with many towns having a Chinatown area. Marysville has alot of museums of Chinese heritage. This parade is a bit different than most, as they believe that the bad spirits are scared of noise, so to usher in good you must scare the bad away...so fireworks go off pretty much the entire parade...even as the Shriners go flying by in their weird little go-carts and old men. Strange parade. We saw it, and honestly I don't think we would ever go back to see it again. This is the New dragon! Pretty ain't it?

27 Feb~my mountains

These are the Buttes (pronounced with a long U, but yes we can them the butts...lol). They are unofficially the smallest mountain range in the world. This is right outside of the Wal-mart. I love the open space, and the colors.

We drove to Oroville tonight to hear Pastor Quinlan preach! He is doing a revival for the church there. Seeing my old pastor was a real treat! The weather was breaking up from a very heavy rain storm. I love the clouds, especially when the sun is setting and hitting them to make such beautiful colors...I took this with my arm out the window. I wasn't driving....lol

25 Feb~our 19th anniversary

We have been married 19 years today~it fell on a Wednesday, so we had bible study and I wanted to get a picture of the sign all up on the building! You can see it from the highway!

The kit is HUGE! I folded them and the girls took pictures, it takes 3 small pieces of tape and lots of laughter! They so enjoyed it...when it came out of the printer! They were giggling even more!

getting the edges crisp is important...

I used a ruler and slide it across~there is no cutting, just folding and it is so easy!

This would be such a fun party favor for a girl! You can just add the picture on computer and print out and have glitter and colored pens for girls to add their own fun things!

We thought ribbon to tie it closed would be cute too!

You could make one every birthday and keep for fun memories!

The possibilities are endless!

The little book is an accordian, and two sided, but you print it out on one regular sheet of paper at your house! The girls brought them to school and everyone loved them! I had a mom wanting me to do one for her daughter, I told her to come to my blog...lol

This was a fun evening, I interview the girls seperately and then they picked out the font and I typed in text boxes for each question. What do they like, and dislike, their hopes and dreams, and then they picked out a picture to pop in the little circle.

I used the rest of the kit to add originality to each one! And you can too, I will take all the comments and write your names down and we will pull one of you out to win the kit!

I will do the drawing on Friday the 13th!

my little digi place to kick back is closing :(

Snap & Scrap, a digital scrapbooking forum owned by Gillian has been fighting to stay open. There were some big pushes, freebie kits to get folks in and buying but it didn't work.

This bums me, because it was a fun place to go, the people always laughed at my silly jokes!

They had a BINGO game every month, and it is hilarious! It is so simple, that was one of my favorite parts, pick out 15 words from a list of 40, private message your picks back, but keep a copy.

Then Szilvia (in Brazil, I think) would call out numbers about every hour, til she went to bed...lol, then an Aussie, once Breez, then Gill and a few others sometimes would call them...so this American on the west coast would be up late late to see if I got all the words! silly, but so much fun. The bantering that went on was the best! Mel, she won it 2 times and Gill made a blinkie! I coveted that blinkie! ha ha I never won the game, or the blinkie, but what I did win, was friendships with people all over the world.

I threatened them (especially the Aussies) that I would be in Australia one day and sleep on all their couches for at least one night!

Repeat picture, but fun!

First off, it looks like we are all okay at the bank, we have to fill out some paperwork. But we are up and running smooth and lovely. Thank you to all who phoned and emailed, it was nice to have people careing!
Now I know I used the pic of me and my mumbly on an earlier layout, but I recently scanned a whole mess of pictures and came across this one from 30 years ago! I totally tripped, because, I am now older than my mom was in the picture of her and me? Did you follow that? Mom would have been 37 in the picture of her and I at the Mother~Daughter Tea. (which mom, you were were very sweet to go to this), and I am now 45! That kinda made me just ponder! Trippy huh?
Well I got this kit from Carolyn Rose Kite (isn't that the most elegant name?) it is called Rich With Love! I played with these two pictures forever, and wanted to use more yellow roses...both my mom and my favorite! I told my dear hubby and he gave me the layout idea! Then I found this song lyric, and it went with the story...so it is on it..and my mom is my hero, as I hope to be for my kids!

we were hacked!

Thankfully we caught it and our bank is working with us! but it is a horrible feeling...my computer was compromised. I am downloading just my address books and the few kits I have on my laptop. We have all the bells and whistles on our puter, but it happened!
I will be out for a bit...it is a horrible feeling! a bit violated you know?
so I'll be back at the end of the week, the bank is going to run thru a few extra security with us tomorrow...and I will sign off for now!

New Collab and cheese burgers!

Spring is here in northern California! The peach trees have little blossoms, cherry trees are blooming and it is raining! I love spring, because it means that summer (my favorite time) is coming and winter is gone!

I did two layouts, and one is the much awaiting Swiss Mushroom Burger and Fries made by my dear dad on my mumbly's birthday. Makes your mouth water doesn't it? I ate the whole thing!

Here is Mr. E, five years ago. The original picture was him hanging from monkey bars at his elementary school. The two pictures are of the walnut trees around the corner from our home. The have beautiful yellow flowers growing on the ground now! We just had 2 full days of sunshine and the sky was just beautiful!
